What's the deal with Mike Castle ? Embryonic Stem Cells have a history of instablity and after 20 years of research have not cured anything or been used as a successful treatment for even one disease. Adult stem cells are currently used successfully in the treatment of 58 different diseases and umbilical cord stem cells have also been used successfully.
But even if it wasn't neccessary to lie about the tract record and promise of embryonic stem cell research, you're talking about human life here ! The very concept of creating human life for scientific expierementation is Hitlarian and the thought of creating human life to act as a host for other human beings is monsterous ! The whole thing reminds me of an old 70's movie called the Clonus Horror.
The preserving of Michael Fox's life, Christopher Reeves life, or anyonelses life at the expense of another unwilling and innocent human being is henious. And Mike Castle, Arlene Specter (no suprise there) Tom Harkin and the rest's lack of moral intuitiveness can only be described as contemptible. I'm sure that every supporter of this godless and bruttish abomination on Capitol Hill can look forward to millions of dollars of support from Bio Tech Firms whose sense of morality ends in their wallets as well as the moral degenerates in other parts of our society to whom the slaughter of the innocent is one of the bedrock principles of their world view.
